Ingredients
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 200 ml water
- 1 egg
- 300 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 50 g butter
How to make Pelmeni
- In a large bowl, combine 500 g of all-purpose flour, 200 ml of water, and 1 egg.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes to relax the gluten.
- Finely chop 1 onion and mix it with 300 g of ground beef.
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and mix until well combined.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 2 mm thickness.
- Cut the dough into circles, approximately 7 cm in diameter.
- Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each circle of dough.
- Fold the dough over and pinch the edges to seal each dumpling tightly.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat.
- Add the dumplings and cook until they float to the surface, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Drain the cooked pelmeni and serve with melted butter.
