Sarma recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cabbage
- 500 g ground beef
- 100 g rice
- 1 onion
- 200 g tomato paste
- 500 ml vegetable broth
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp oil
How to make Sarma
- Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a boil over high heat.
- Immerse the cabbage in the boiling water for 5-7 minutes until the leaves are pliable and can be easily removed.
- Remove the cabbage and let it cool slightly before separating the leaves carefully.
- In a medium pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat, then add 1 chopped onion.
- Sauté the chopped onion for about 5 minutes until it becomes translucent and fragrant.
- In a bowl, combine 500 g of ground beef, 100 g of cooked rice, the sautéed onion, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of pepper, and 1 teaspoon of paprika, mixing well until combined thoroughly.
- Take a cabbage leaf, place about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture at the edge, and roll it tightly while tucking in the sides.
- Repeat the rolling process with the remaining leaves and meat mixture until completed.
- Place the stuffed cabbage rolls seam side down in a large pot.
- Pour 200 g of tomato paste and 500 ml of vegetable broth over the rolls, covering them evenly.
- Cover the pot and simmer on low heat for 1 hour, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- After cooking, serve the sarma warm with additional tomato sauce drizzled on top if desired.
