Ingredients
- 500 g phyllo dough
- 400 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 50 ml olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 200 g yogurt
- 1 egg
How to make Burek
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Chop 1 onion finely before starting.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté for 5 minutes until translucent.
- Add 400 g of ground beef, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper.
- Cook the mixture for 7-10 minutes until the meat is browned.
- Grease a baking dish and layer 6 sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each with olive oil.
- Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly on top of the phyllo layers.
- Layer another 4 sheets of phyllo on top, brushing with olive oil between the sheets.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
- Remove the burek from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
- Serve the burek warm with yogurt on the side.
