Gibanica recipe

Ingredients
- 400 g phyllo dough
- 200 g feta cheese
- 200 g cottage cheese
- 3 eggs
- 150 ml milk
- 100 g butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
How to make Gibanica
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, measure and combine 200 g of feta cheese, 200 g of cottage cheese, 2 beaten eggs, 150 ml of milk, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper until smooth.
- Melt 100 g of butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Brush the melted butter on a baking dish and on each layer of phyllo dough as you build the pastry.
- Place half of the phyllo layers (about 5 sheets) in the baking dish, ensuring they overlap slightly.
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the layer of phyllo sheets in the dish.
- Layer the remaining phyllo sheets (about 5) on top of the cheese mixture, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Remove the gibanica from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
