  1. Prepare the ingredients: measure 1 whole chicken, 1 piece of ginger, 4 cloves of garlic, and 2 spring onions for cooking.
  2. In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a rolling boil. Add the ginger, garlic, and chopped spring onions.
  3. Carefully lower the whole chicken into the boiling water, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 30-40 minutes.
