  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 20 minutes without lifting the lid.
  7. After 20 minutes, remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving it warm on a plate.
