How to make Lovo

  1. Prepare a fire pit and heat smooth stones over the flames for 30 to 45 minutes.
  2. Marinate 1 kg of chicken and 1 kg of pork with 3 teaspoons of salt and 200 ml of coconut cream to coat them well.
  3. Take the marinated meat and assorted vegetables, then wrap them tightly in banana leaves.
  4. Place the wrapped bundles in the fire pit on the hot stones, ensuring they are covered securely.
  5. Cover the entire setup with soil to trap the heat.
  6. Cook the wrapped food in the pit for 2 to 3 hours until the aroma is rich and the meat is tender.
  7. After cooking, carefully uncover the pit and remove the bundles.
  8. Serve the Lovo hot, unwrapping each bundle at the table.
