How to make Lahmacun

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 500 g of all-purpose flour, 7 g of yeast, 250 ml of water, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Knead the mixture for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the kneaded dough in a warm spot and let it rise for 30 minutes covered with a damp cloth.
  4. Finely chop 1 onion, 1 tomato, 1 red bell pepper, and a handful of parsley for the topping.
  5. In a heated pan, cook 300 g of ground lamb for 5-7 minutes until browned and crumbly.
  6. Add the chopped vegetables along with 1 tsp of paprika, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/1 tsp of black pepper.
  7. Cook the lamb mixture with the vegetables for an additional 5-7 minutes until everything is tender.
  8. Roll the risen dough into thin circles, approximately 20 cm in diameter.
  9. Spread the ground lamb mixture evenly on each circle of dough before baking.
  10. Preheat the oven to 220°C, then bake the lahmacun for 10-12 minutes until the edges are crispy.
