- 1000 ml water
- 1 tbsp salt
- 50 g butter

- Gradually whisk in 250 g of cornmeal to avoid lumps, stirring continuously.

- Cook the cornmeal mixture for 20 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
- After 20 minutes, add 50 g of butter into the pot and stir until melted.
- Continue stirring until the mixture is creamy and thickens to your liking.
- Serve the mămăligă warm in bowls, topped with 100 g of crumbled cheese.
