Ingredients
- 250 g cornmeal
- 750 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 50 g butter
- 150 g cheese
How to make Ribel
- Fill a large pot with 1 liter of water, adding 1 tsp of salt; bring to a boil over high heat.
- Gradually stir in 250 g of cornmeal while cooking over medium heat.
- Continue cooking, stirring consistently until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Lower the heat, allowing the mixture to cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Spread the mixture evenly onto a greased tray and let it cool for 15 minutes until set.
- Cut the cooled mixture into 5 cm pieces, preparing them for frying.
- Heat 50 g of butter in a skillet over medium heat until melted.
- Pan-fry the pieces until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Serve the warm Ribel topped with 150 g of grated cheese.
