Ingredients
- 400 g cod fillets
- 500 g potatoes
- 1 onion
- 50 g butter
- 300 ml milk
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
How to make Plokkfiskur
- Prepare the ingredients by boiling 3 medium potatoes in salted water for 15-20 minutes until tender.
- Peel the potatoes and mash them well until smooth and creamy with no lumps.
- In a pan, melt 50 g of butter over medium heat, then sauté 1 chopped onion until soft, for about 5 minutes.

- Break the cooked fish into chunks with a spatula while mixing it in the pan.
- Sprinkle in 30 g of flour, mixing well until combined with the fish.
- Gradually add 300 ml of milk, stirring until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Combine the mashed potatoes with the fish mixture and season with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
- Serve warm in bowls, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
