Haleem recipe

Ingredients
- 100 g wheat
- 50 g barley
- 50 g split yellow lentils
- 50 g chickpeas
- 300 g beef
- 2 onions
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp oil
- 1500 ml water
How to make Haleem
- Soak 100 g of wheat, 50 g of barley, 50 g of split yellow lentils, and 50 g of chickpeas in water overnight.
- In a large pot, heat 3 tablespoons of oil over medium heat and sauté 1 sliced onion until golden brown and soft.
- Add 1 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste and 300 g of diced beef; cook until the beef is browned nicely on all sides.
- Stir in the soaked grains, then add 2 liters of water, 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
- Simmer for about 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking at the bottom.
- Once cooked, blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, then return to the pot.
- Garnish with chopped green chilies and serve hot with various toppings.
