Crispy and golden Swiss potato goodness!
Ingredients
- 800 g potatoes
- 50 g butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
How to make Rösti
- Peel 800 g of potatoes and grate them into a bowl using a box grater.
- Rinse the grated potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch, then drain well using a fine mesh sieve.
- In a large skillet, melt 50 g of butter over medium heat until foamy but not browned.
- Add the grated potatoes to the skillet and season with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
- Press down the potatoes evenly in the skillet and cook for about 10-15 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully flip the potatoes and cook the other side for an additional 10-15 minutes on low heat until golden and crispy.
- Once cooked, remove from the skillet and cut into wedges.
- Serve the Rösti hot and enjoy it immediately for the best texture.
