How to make Zouza

  1. In a large pot, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium heat until it shimmers slightly.
  2. Add 1 chopped onion to the pot and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add 800 g of chicken pieces to the pot and brown them on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Pour in 400 ml of coconut milk and add the juice of 1 lime to the mixture.
  6. Stir in 2 tbsp of minced ginger, 2 tbsp of curry powder, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/1 tsp of pepper.
  7. Mix everything together thoroughly and bring to a simmer.
  8. Cover the pot and let it simmer for 25 minutes until the chicken is cooked and tender.
  9. Once cooked, remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  10. Serve the hot chicken curry with rice or bread on the side for a complete meal.
